Dr Maria Mesplet is the OIE Project Officer of the Tripartite Regional Project ”Working together to fight antimicrobial resistance”, funded by the European Union.
Maria is a professor at the Department of Infectious Diseases of the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences, University of Buenos Aires (UBA-Argentina). She holds a PhD in Veterinary Sciences, a Master’s degree in Biotechnology from the University of Buenos Aires and a CES in Animal Epidemiology from ENVA-CIRAD (France).
Before joining the OIE, Maria worked as an advisor in the National Directorate of International Relations and Coordinator of the implementation and monitoring of the International Health Regulations (IHR 2005) at point of entry in the Ministry of Health of Argentina. Previously, she worked as an external consultant at the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) and the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI).
