What is the role of the Convener for the various session formats (Live, Interactive and On-Demand)?
Conveners are the “glue” of the session. They organize speakers and topic content along with the Program Committee Organizer assigned to the session.
- For live sessions, conveners and speakers, attend the session the day of the event.
- Conveners lead the session and come prepared with questions to ask the speaker(s) based on the meeting’s content.
- Conveners monitor and facilitate the questions from meeting attendees.
- Conveners organize content, as well as recording times for the sessions. Sessions can be recorded all at once or speakers can record separately. In addition, if recorded talks are recorded separately, then conveners can attend the speakers recording to introduce the speakers.
- Conveners and speakers attend the actual session and take live Q/A during and after the recorded presentation.
On-Demand sessions are recorded prior to the meeting and aired on a specific date and time of the meeting. There is no live Q/A, but there are other networking features in the virtual platform that allow on-demand speakers to connect with other meeting attendees, such as Networking and Profile questions that are set up when entering the virtual platform site. These questions will help connect all meeting attendees with like-minded individuals attending the meeting.
- Conveners facilitate the success of the session by organizing content, as well as recording as a group or separately. If the session is recorded as a group, the convener can introduce speakers and hold a panel talk at the end of the session.
How do I find out the details regarding my session, as well as format and presentation lengths?
- To locate your session details, visit the meeting’s program planner. It will list your session format (Live, Interactive or On-Demand) and presentation lengths for speakers.
